About Wynnefield Prep Academy

Wynnefield Prep Academy is minutes away from St. Joseph’s University and City Line Avenue. Our center is located on the beautiful corner of 54th and Wynnefield and Woodbine Avenues. We are easily accessible by car, public transportation or by foot (for community residents).

Our high-quality early education program will provide the families of Wynnefield and the surrounding area with innovative programming and dedicated teachers. Our programs provide a rich academic foundation for children ages 12 months to school age while promoting independence, decision-making, cooperation, creativity, and problem solving.

We believe children are born eager and ready to learn! As educators, it is our responsibility to foster that learning by providing children with the opportunities that will allow them to create their own meanings to the world around them. We understand that it is not only important for children to develop the basic skills that will be the foundation for future learning, but they receive care from teachers who have a genuine love for children. We provide exceptional care in a safe and nurturing environment, create an enriching learning experience for each child and seek out the most compassionate and qualified staff to care for your child.

Young children learn best by being active participants in their own learning. At our school, concepts and skills are learned through exploration, investigation, play, art, and focused on intentional teaching. We support children in becoming critical thinkers, problem-solvers, and innovators by making connections between diverse skills and concepts across learning domains.

Literacy is a vital part of a child's success now and in the future as an adult. Our literacy center helps to ensure that children have access to a variety of books and literacy tools to practice reading and increase their vocabulary and comprehension skills. Reading also sparks children's imaginations and helps them learn about the world around them.

Our collection of books are shared with the children and their families to encourage continued storytime at home.

Professional Teachers

Teachers are the heart of our program. They are all trained and experienced in early childhood education and dedicated to interaction and exploration.

Our teachers are also lifelong learners. We support their professional development by encouraging teacher attendance at workshops and conferences and team meetings.

Every detail of our center is designed to enhance the learning experience of children. The beauty of our classrooms and the natural materials we provide nurture each child’s curiosity and creativity.

Our environment is designed for sensory learning, our space allows teachers and children to create experiences of sight, sound and touch. Children are connected daily to the natural world by introducing elements such rocks, sticks, flowers and leaves from our daily walks.

The center is not only stimulating; it is designed to support the highest level of childcare. Age-appropriate classrooms are established along with indoor and outdoor play spaces where children play, explore, and learn safely.

Children experience the deepest, most genuine learning when they are having fun. MY NAME IS rOBIN tHOMAS

I am the Executive Director/Founder of Wynnefield Prep Academy.  I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Temple University and a Master’s degree in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College.
