What are we doing to prevent the spread of COVID-19?

The health and wellness of our children, families and staff is of the utmost importance for Wynnefield Prep Academy. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have developed procedures in order to take precautions to provide an appropriate environment for children and staff.

The following policies and procedures are continually being evaluated and updated based on the latest recommendations from the CDC and local and state agencies. They may change as we navigate through the pandemic and the information on this page will be updated accordingly.

  • Daily Health Screening & Temperature Checks: Upon arrival all children and staff will go through a daily health screening before being permitted into the building.

  • Social Distance and Capacity Control: Drop off and pick-up will be handled at the screening station to limit access to the building by additional people.

  • Face Mask Requirement: Our staff will wear cloth face coverings when present inside the building. When visiting the school property, parents will need to wear a cloth face covering. The CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend that children over the age of 2 wear face coverings. In the state of PA, face masks are required except during meal times, nap and outdoor play.

  • Ongoing Cleaning & Disinfecting: Our building will continue to be extensively cleaned and disinfected by our outside professional cleaning service with increased attention to frequently touched areas. In addition, staff will rotate materials throughout the day for sanitation in all classrooms. Our playgrounds will be disinfected throughout the day and in between group use.
